Vertical Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition with the Lie. Versus runs July 11 – 26, 2015, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 11, 6-10pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Chicago’s Lie (Jay Turner) brings to life his story of 4D vs Doom in his first solo exhibition at Vertical Gallery. Lie is a Chicago suburb born and based painter. He is a graduate of The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg. Submersing himself in the Chicago Street Art Scene, he became a student of spray paint and urban art. Mixing traditional painting techniques with spray paint, he has manifested a unique style that crosses contemporary and street art. He has exhibited in Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco. Vertical Gallery represented him at the prestigious SCOPE Art Fair, Miami Beach, in December 2014.

In the 4D vs Doom story, the girl that is present in the majority of his works represents who you are - she is all the good in you. Normally seen sporting her war attire, complete with gloss black helmet and make-up, she is at war against the challenges in your life. This is Lie’s largest exhibition to date.
