Grant William Thye “Second Time Around” May 11 - June 1
Vertical Gallery presents Chicago-based artist Grant William Thye for his second solo exhibition at the gallery. The exhibition “Second Time Around” is May 11 – June 1, with an opening reception with the artist on Saturday, May 11th, 6:00-9:00pm.
Growing up on a farm in the Midwest, Grant William Thye’s work has been influenced by both Regionalism and the Chicago Imagists. Although usually not blatantly obvious, his work contains personal thoughts, ideas, and concepts. Between traditions and modernity, each one of his compositions oscillate between contemporary and ancestral culture. A large part of his subject matter still reflects the wide open spaces of his childhood responsible for shaping his temperament.
