Tinku
Tinku is a Guatemalan stencil artist based in Mexico City. He started making stencils in 2012, following other graphic intervention projects that focused mostly on the communication of political ideas, both through direct or symbolic means, using a different pseudonym.
Although Tinku's style is in constant evolution, his work remains focused on the appropriation of public spaces to show portraits of people who are often forgotten by the "modern society".
Tinku's stencils can be found on walls of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. After focusing exclusively on his mural works, Tinku is now starting to explore other formats that permit him to take his street art to galleries and collections.
Vertical Gallery is very pleased to be the only gallery in the US showing his work. Definitely an artist to watch.
