Roar Kjernstad

Roar Kjærnstad was born in Stange, Norway, in 1975 and educated at the Royal Academy in Antwerp.  He is a painter who specializes in traditional figurative work using a combination of abstract expression and figurative forms. Much of Kjærnstad's work possesses a somewhat mysterious mood, an unusual atmosphere, all captured in a contemporary setting. His goal is to make abstract and recognizable shapes coexist in a self-contained universe. Over the past 20 years, he has exhibited in numerous art galleries both at home and abroad.
