About this print:
Vertical Gallery originally released Hebru Brantley’s “No More Public Battles, Just Private Wars” screen print in conjunction with the artist’s 2017 solo show ‘Eat Crap King.’ The standard version — a 16-color, 30” x 24” print on extra-heavy archival paper, hand-pulled by Chicago’s Pop!nk Editions — was released in an edition of 35 copies, and sold out almost instantly.
In conjunction with the main “No More Public Battles, Just Private Wars” release, Pop!nk also hand-pulled three “ghost variant” editions. One copy is in the artist's archive; one is in the gallery owner's collection; and the third copy is for sale now on our website — the first time this highly collectible print has ever been made available to the general public. It is signed by the artist, and numbered 3/3.
“No More Public Battles, Just Private Wars” features Hebru’s interpretations of his heroes Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The print pays homage to their 1982 collaborative exhibit ‘Paintings,’ whose now-classic promotional poster featured photographer Michael Halsband’s image of Warhol and Basquiat in boxing gloves. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to add the “No More Public Battles, Just Private Wars” ghost variant to your pop art collection!
