        Florist

Florist fills the cracks of urban life. The London-based artist’s hand-cut mosaic installations transform blight into beauty, bringing color and purpose to forlorn spaces across the globe.

Florist (birth name classified) turned to making mosaics after a lengthy battle with substance abuse. “When I got sober, I decided I needed to do something with my life,” he says. “I wanted to create something that would last.” Apart from a brief stint at the now-defunct London School of Mosaic, Florist honed his signature pixelated approach through trial and error, guided by videos showcasing France’s Invader and other modern-day mosaic maestros. He laid his first mosaics by hand (“the way the Romans and the Mesopotamians made them”) before tools like 3D-printed tile trays and industrial-strength glue revolutionized his process, slashing the time and energy required to install each piece.

Florist-branded mosaics now adorn cities from Manchester to Mumbai, and in July 2026, he partnered with Vertical Gallery for his first U.S. print release “Stars, Stripes and Stems,” honoring 250 years of American independence.
