Amose
Amose channels the spirit and symbolic power of South American tribal art into geometric depictions of the human body.
Amose Vazimolo studied illustration at Belgium’s Institut St. Luc before returning to his native France to attend the École des Beaux-Arts, where his focus turned to graphic design. Exposure to Brazilian graffiti art inspired the simple shapes and flat figures that would soon become synonymous with Amose’s work across a range of mediums from murals to screenprints, and in 2003 he headlined his first solo exhibit and installation, ‘Braderie de l’electro.’ Exhibitions in Paris, Geneva, Vienna and Antwerp vaulted Amose to wider renown, and he joined forces with fellow street artists Sfer, Nada, Eroné and Spyre to create the all-star Mercurocrom collective. Amose was one of 40 artists featured in Vertical Gallery’s 6-Year Anniversary group show in 2019, and he resurfaced in our 2022 Winter Group Show.
