Johan Wahlstrom
Johan Wahlstrom, a fifth-generation artist, was born in 1959 in Stockholm, Sweden. His first creative direction was rock and roll, where he had a successful career as a keyboardist and singer. After 18 years he said goodbye to rock and roll and settled in France where he did nothing but paint for seven years. He prides himself on making a conscious effort to describe the social political landscape of our contemporary world. Wahlstrom’s use of political iconography and brash painting style brings to the forefront a raw juxtaposition of issues facing everyday life. His works have been exhibited since 1998 across Europe and The USA. He is currently living and working in New York, showing at George Berges Gallery.
